Anne WEYER

Anne Weyer was born in 1939 in Oberhausen, Germany.

From 1960 to 1965 she studied at the art school Folkwangschule für Gestaltung in Essen where she also met her former husband Pit Weyer. After their studies, they married and Anne took the Luxembourgish nationality. Lex Weyer, the son of Pit and Anne was born in 1966.

Anne worked with Pit together for several Luxembourgish theatres; they created masks, costumes, posters and stage design.

In 1967 and 1968 Anne participated in the exposition in the barns of Consdorf with her drawings and collages. She works as an independent illustrator for magazines and book editors.
Her expressive drawings and collages have mostly critical subjects as emancipation, sexuality, eroticism, militarism or environmental problems.

She worked for the Comité Chili, Amnesty International, the Planning Familial, the Folk-Clupp and the anti-nuclear movement.
